Description

Wellcome International Training Fellowships is an award program that offers financial support to citizens of low and middle-income countries to enable them undertake postgraduate training or postdoctoral research programs in public health in low and middle-income countries – excluding China and India.

Fellowship Worth/Inclusions

The Fellowship worth is usually £150,000 to £300,000 for research expenses, tuition fees, and salary.

NOTE: The award lasts for a period of three years.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this award, applicants must;

° have a PhD and be an early-career researcher or

° be a clinically qualified doctor (and be qualified to enter higher specialist training), vet, dentist or clinical psychologist, and have some initial research experience or

° have a degree in a relevant subject and some initial research experience

° Be a national of a low- or middle-income country

° have sponsorship from an eligible host organisation in a low- or middle-income country apart from mainland China

° your proposed research must focus on a health priority in a low- or middle-income country
