Description
Tongarewa Scholarship is a scholarship program by Victoria University of Wellington offered to outstanding international students to celebrate the University’s commitment to their community – the University’s International Student community.
N.B: This scholarship is offered only to international students who are entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree programme at the University.
Recipients of this scholarship are expected to act as Ambassadors for Victoria University of Wellington and participate in appropriate events or marketing if requested.

Number of Awards: Up to 10 scholarships of NZ$10,000 for Bachelors and Masters degrees and up to 9 scholarships of NZ$5,000 for Masters degrees only

Field of study: Bachelors degrees, Masters by Research degrees, or Masters by Coursework degrees in any subject

Scholarship Worth/Inclusions
The scholarship award is worth between NZ$5,000 to NZ$10,000. As it were, this offer is a partial fee-based scholarship that will be paid towards tuition for qualified students for an Academic year.
Also, qualified students are granted an offer of a place in the Halls of Residence – this is dependent on if an accommodation application is received by the Accommodation Service before the deadline.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship;
° Applicants must have received an offer of a place from University of Wellington
° Applicants must be commencing international students who are paying full international fees and are either their first of an Undergraduate Postgraduate degree
