The Australia Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships is a scholarship program by Australian Government that offers annual financial aid to domestic and international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Master’s Degree better referred to as Higher Degree by Research (HDRs).

Scholarship Worth/Inclusions

The scholarship award covers one or more of this financial support;

° An RTP Stipend to assist students with their living costs while undertaking a higher degree by research

° An RTP Fees Offset pays for the tuition fees of a higher degree by research (HDR) students that would otherwise have been paid by the student. This requires a university to fully offset the tuition fee applicable for a student. This is not a stipend.

• RTP Allowances to assist students with ancillary costs of a higher degree by research (HDR) – includes relocation costs to undertake a HDR, HDR thesis printing and academic publication costs and health cover costs for recipients and their dependents

NOTE: The scholarship is renewable and available for a minimum period of two to three years for a Research Master, and a maximum period of four years – at the discretion of the HEP – for a Research Doctorate Degree.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, applicants must be a national or an international student enrolled in a taught HDR course of study at an Australian HEP.
