Customs officials at a Florida air terminal discovered about a half-million dollars being snuck out of the United States covered up inside furnishings, authorities said. US Custom and Border Protection officials at Miami International Airport seized $491,280 (Dh1,804,397) in unreported US cash last Thursday, the organization said in a news discharge. The cash had been disguised inside a seat set in a box with other furnishings. The shipment was making a beeline for the Dominican Republic and was chosen for assessment during outbound implementation tasks, authorities said. "Criminal associations will endeavor to send out enormous aggregates of money to launder their badly gotten gains,'' said Robert Del Toro, the organization's acting port chief. Authorities didn't state who the cash had a place with or whether criminal accusations would be recorded. Explorers bringing more than $10,000 out of the US must report it to customs authorities. Neglecting to do so can prompt the cash's seizure and relinquishment, just as likely criminal allegations, authorities said.
